USC GeneScreen: The USC Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry
Objetivo
Researchers at USC invite you, and your friends and family, to enroll online in USC GeneScreen, USC Alzheimer's Prevention Registry.
Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disease that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It is a progressive brain disorder that causes severe memory loss over time, making it increasingly difficult for people to carry out daily activities. Alzheimer's disease impacts us all.
While valuable Alzheimer's research is being done every day to treat and prevent this disease, finding interested research participants remains an ongoing challenge. USC GeneScreen is a registry for people who are interested in participating in Alzheimer’s disease research studies at USC. By joining the registry, members are the first to hear about new and innovative studies that they may be eligible to participate in.

About This Study
Alzheimer's disease and other dementias affect millions of people in the United States. The cause of Alzheimer's is not fully understood, and there is currently no cure for it, but treatments can help slow the progression of the disease and improve the quality of life for those living with it. While research has the chance to improve treatment and prevention options, researchers face challenges finding participants interested in Alzheimer's or dementia research. At the University of Southern California, we want that to change.
USC GeneScreen is a registry for Los Angeles community members who want to partner with researchers leading the fight against Alzheimer's disease. As a registry member, we will send you a cheek swab sample kit to test for the ApoE gene and other possible Alzheimer-related genetic risk factors, and your results might be used to match you to research studies at USC for which you may be eligible. Participation in these studies is also entirely voluntary and your choice. It is your decision to accept or decline matched studies.
There is no cost to join. Enrollment takes minutes and includes a brief online survey and consent.
